Deepen Your Yoga Practice & Nourish Your Body
YOGA, Meditation, Encouragement, Journaling & Nourishment Course
Spring 2010 with Natalie Lorber and Molly Dindia

Open up to the fresh possibilities of a new beginning, cleanse your body and mind of clutter which is not serving you, while cultivating a more regular yoga practice with this 28-Day transformational experience!

Deepen Your Yoga Practice —
ON the Mat Practices
Studio Practice includes: Unlimited yoga classes throughout the entire program, choosing from any of our regular scheduled classes-It is preferred that you take at least 4 classes at Harmony Studios.
-1 Additional Practice at home, with friends, at our studio or at another studio, your preference.
-2 Days of Rest — Indulging in some kind of relaxation or other Treat!
-Attend weekly meetings and short meditations with Natalie and Molly at Harmony held on Sunday evenings (following Christie's Power Yoga class) from 7:30-8:00pm. It is preferred that you take Molly’s Candlelight Yoga Class at 7:00 (if you are at that level) on Thurs evenings and 1 of Natalie’s Power classes once a week (if you are at that level).
-Meetings will consist of short meditations, group discussions regarding our asana (yoga) practice, diet, and lifestyle.

Nourish Your Body —
OFF the Mat Practices
Eating/Food suggestions given at meetings & encouragement provided of a vegetarian lifestyle for the duration of the challenge. Encouraging avocation of the 5 abstinences: Giving up maybe 3 of 5 (or all) for the full 28 days or working week to week. 5 being: Alcohol, caffeine, sugar, gluten, and animal products.


To register, pls pay a Deposit Fee of $75 by 3/19/2010.

The goal of this program is to make healthy lifestyles and eating simple. There are no rules, food deprivation or restriction. You will gain confidence in choosing and preparing foods that support your practice, lifestyle and health. It’s not a fad or quick fix. It is about integrating changes gradually, so that you may experience transforming and lasting changes.
So many things nourish and feed our body, mind, and soul; the program is not just about food and exercise. You will examine other aspects of your life to establish and maintain balance.
 


Basic Beginner’s Workshop
with Anne Ondrey
Saturday, April 3rd • 1:30-3:30 PM Price: $30


This 2-hour workshop is designed for brand new beginners and intermediate students wanting more detail to postural alignment. This is a great way to learn the basics in an intimate non-competitive environment. We will take you through the fundamentals of alignment and breath work as you begin to experience for yourself some of the benefits that arise from practicing yoga such as:


1 -Increased flexibility
2 -Increased strength
3 -Cardiovascular and digestive health
4 -Sense of well being relaxation

In this workshop you will learn proper yogic breathing techniques, sun salutations, standing poses and hip openers. You will be introduced to back bending, forward bending and inversions. Workshop will conclude with a deep relaxation. Wear comfortable clothing. This workshop is offered the first Saturday of each month.

How do you balance your desire for health and wellness with your deep love for chocolate and cheesecake? You don't have to choose one or the other. Learn how to find balance that satisfies your body, your inner foodie, and your desire for comfort, reward, and indulgence.

Mindful Eating
with Anne Ondrey, MSW, RYT

Come and enjoy a peaceful Hatha practice and mindful meditation, both suitable for all levels. Together we'll investigate the seven types of hunger and how to satisfy each. The practice is based on the work of pediatrician and meditation teacher Chozen Bays and her new book, Mindful Eating: A Guide to Rediscovering a Healthy and Joyful Relationship with Food, and other texts as well. Whether you're overweight, struggle with food issues or just want a fuller enjoyment of food, this workshop will bring our awareness to our eating patterns and to the true source of our hunger.
 

Relieving Ostoeporosis with Paula Gardner

Learn how yoga can increase your bone density with weight bearing asanas. Opposing one muscle group to another over relatively long periods of time, proves to be an excellent stimulus of this type of bone reinforcement. Since you are controlling the degree of intensity, it can be carefully controlled to produce forces that are great enough to stimulate bone strengthening, but not to damage the very bones one is trying to reinforce. Discover ways to combat the stress that compromises the neuroendocrine and immune systems. A specific sequence for relieving osteoporosis will be taught as well as breathing and relaxation techniques. If you have osteoporosis and are new to yoga, please get your Dr.'s permission to participate in this workshop.
