Core Curriculum

The core curriculum is based on the Yoga Alliance Standards for 200 hour training. A program that follows these standards for a Hatha and Vinyasa based program, with special lectures from various teachers of other forms of yoga, such as Jivamukti, Anursara, Therapeutic, and Power. In this program, the student is expected to graduate with a good knowledge of:

  • Sequencing skills to build and create your own flows and classes, and begin or strengthen your home practice
  • Specific Asana's and how to safely adjust and assist your students, practice, assess contradictions, modifications with props
  • Learn the Sanskrit Names for Asanas
  • Pranayama practices
  • Meditation practice
  • Mantra Practices
  • Chakras and Energy Anatomy
  • Training Basics of Ayurveda
  • Ethics of being a yoga teacher and Yogic Lifestyle
  • Learning how to begin and grow your own yoga business
  • Yogic Philosophy, studies from the Yoga Sutras
  • Practice teaching and assisting at Harmony Studios
  • Yoga Anatomy and Physiology of Asanas
  • Teaching Styles taught are primarily Beginners to Ongoing Beginners/Intermediate Hatha classes and Vinyasa, with background on Restorative yoga, Gentle
  • Yoga, Chair and Therapeutic Yoga, Chakra Yoga, and Prenatal Yoga
  • Home Practice Special topics classes and lectures from accredited teachers
  • Case Studies in Therapeutic Yoga Program
