Prenatal Yoga
Please join us for pre-natal classses at Harmony Studios. Many of you are already aware of all of the amazing benefits of a regular yoga practice: Increase in overall strength, balance and flexibility, rinsing and stimulating internal organs to aid digestion, promoting circulation and increased oxygen flow - all while calming the nervous system and ridding the body of toxins! By maintaining a regular practice during pregnancy, your baby gets all these benefits too! The prenatal classes are conducted in a calm and peaceful environment where it is safe to discuss any discomforts, concerns or joys you may be experiencing. We will guide you through asana with the tools that you need to help you alleviate overall discomfort during this journey, including swelling of the joints, back pain, and sciatica. Additionally, you will learn how to strengthen the pelvic muscles and open your hips to prepare your body for birth and prevent some of the common "wear and tear" that happens during pregnancy...all while connecting with your growing baby. It is suggested that you bring water and a towel.

Research shows that women who have a companion during pregnancy and labor have a "lighter" birth than those who have no support. Often partners do not realize how much successful birthing depends on their positive, loving and supportive attitude. Sharing yoga postures, breath awareness, vocal toning, meditation and massage, couples cultivate greater relaxation, nurture family intimacy and create the opportunity for bonding with the unbounded love living within the mother's body. Join us for an afternoon of bonding and sharing in this special time.
