New to Yoga
Sometimes beginning a yoga practice can be overwhelming, especially if you’ve never been inside a yoga studio. Don’t be intimidated! Below we have some information you will find helpful in taking the next step to enjoying the pleasures and benefits of yoga. And if you can’t reach your toes, don’t worry; after just a few sessions you’ll begin to notice how your body will open up in ways that you never imagined.
Class Style:
Whether you are interested in a more traditional Hatha Yoga class where the focus is on each individual posture or a more challenging and energetic flowing style in which postures are fluidly linked together in a continuous and somewhat challenging sequence (Vinyasa Yoga). Harmony Studios has a variety of yoga to choose from and can help you find the style of class that best suites your needs. We also offer a Basic beginners workshop every first Saturday of the month to help you get started. Periodically we will be holding workshops to look for including Pre-natal, Back Care yoga and Power Yoga Basics, Teen Yoga and more. Please see Class Descriptions for more info or call the studio at 440.942.9642 if you have additional questions.
Class Level:
The levels of classes correspond to the mastery the student possesses of the yoga postures or asanas. Most of our classes have a blended mix. The instructors always give you options on how to make your practice modified or more challenging depending on what your needs are.
Our Instructors:
There are such wonderful instructors at Harmony Studios that you might have a difficult time choosing which one to take classes from. That would be a great problem to have. We suggest you try all of the instructors and don’t be afraid to talk to the instructor before or after class if you have questions on their style.
Physical or Medical Issues:
Please make sure you communicate any pre-existing medical problems to your teacher before class. If you are recovering from a recent injury, have a chronic muscular-skeletal issue, have sever physical limitations or are recovering from a surgical or medical procedure, you might want to schedule a private session with one of our qualified instructors before joining a class.
