Yoga Sculpt presents traditional strength training moves in combination with yoga postures: think Vinyasa meets free weights, calm meets strong. This 60-minute total body workout is designed to burn calories, tone and sculpt every major muscle group, and accentuate the importance of alignment and form. By listening to your body and safely working important muscles needed for a strong yoga practice, you begin to cultivate a deeper sense of bodily awareness. Exercises such as squats, lunges, bicep and tricep curls are incorporated to build lean muscle mass. Other non-yoga cardio included such as mountain climbers, jumping jacks, and jump squats get your heart rate up and boost your metabolism.

This class is not a competition and is easily modified for all levels of yogis! While weights certainly add intensity, they are always optional. Resistance bands, sand bags and other props will also be used. If lifting, we recommend students take two sets of weights to the mat with them. As you break down and build up all this muscle, your body will need a little recovery time in between. Sculpt is best complimented with a cool down session, which can be taken immediately following every regularly scheduled Sculpt class!
